I, Pete Gaesser, am an experienced business owner with over 30 years of experience in the development and management of successful startups. I fell in love with fishing at an early age and the passion lingered in me throughout my life.
At 16, I dropped out of high school to pursue my passion. I worked on a commercial swordfish/tuna fishing boat for 10 years, being on the water for 3 weeks at a time. Dangerous conditions, such as 25-foot seas and sinking 300 miles offshore, never stopped me from doing the job I loved. I never got tired of the ocean.
I have traveled to many places from Montauk, New York to Venice, Louisiana. During these travels, I have had multiple opportunities to work with captains from different culinary backgrounds. Being surrounded by diverse foods from various local ports gave me invaluable knowledge and expertise. Far more than I could learn in any culinary school. Over my lifetime I’ve found that the knowledge I have gained from hands-on experiences has provided me with opportunities I never thought possible.
I pursued other business opportunities, but the love of fishing never went away. I even taught my daughter to fish and she found the same passion I have. Eventually, I turned my passion into a profession. I closed my construction company and opened Wild Caught Seafood Market and Grill in July 2020. In such a short time, I have seen it develop and grow far surpassing my initial expectations.
I am hopeful that I will have the opportunity to open many more locations and continue this journey for the passion I love so much.
